The open house style hearing will provide the opportunity for nearby residents, businesses, and travelers to learn about and provide comments regarding intersection safety improvements at Southbound U.S. Routes 61, Westbound U.S. Route 24, and Route F near Palmyra in Marion County.

This project will realign the Route F roadway and relocate the intersection to a new location. Planned improvements will include:

  • Relocation of the existing Southbound U.S. 61, Westbound U.S. 24, and Route F intersection to a new location south of the interchange
  • Removal of existing U.S. 61/24 and Route F at-grade intersection
  • New roadway construction to connect existing Route F to the new U.S. 24 intersection
  • Modifications to connecting routes

Construction is scheduled to begin in Spring 2028 with an anticipated completion by late 2029. The project is estimated to cost $5.2 million. Written and recorded oral statements and exhibits can be submitted at the hearing. The public can also review materials and make comments on the project web page beginning October 21, 2026. All comments must be received by November 20.

Maps, drawings, and environmental documents prepared by the Missouri Department of Transportation will be available for public inspection and copying at the office of the District Engineer of the Missouri Department of Transportation, 1711 S. Hwy. 61 Hannibal, Missouri, 63401.
